"Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1962, I was surrounded by music from my earliest memories. My grand-father marched in John Phillip Sousa's marching band, and my father and uncles performed professionally for years as a combo. Through high-school I studied violin with the International String Quartet, through scholarships with Indiana University. I received degrees in English and Political Science from Indiana University in 1984. Self taught in piano, I began performing in hotel lounges, country clubs, and cruise ships in the Washington, D.C. Area. I soon found myself the pianoman at the friendliest saloon in the city, which eventually led to my being the house pianist at the Washington-Sheraton Wardman Park Hotel: Washington's largest convention hotel at the time." - Eric Frankson
